Housing Innovation and the Appraisal Process

This report paper benefits home builders, building product manufacturers, and other industry professionals interested in new technology adoption in residential construction. This paper explores the appraisal process during the valuation of housing and associated technology including key players, the process, and issues related to the process. An executive summary highlights the results of an industry roundtable discussing the issues of technology valuation in housing attended by representatives of the housing, lending, realty, appraisal, and government communities held December 18, 2001 in Bowie, Maryland. A list of suggested improvements to technology valuation was generated at the conclusion of the roundtable.
