Civil, Mechanical, & Structural Engineers Needed

Then we want to talk to you! The NAHB Research Center is now hiring Engineers to work in our Applied Engineering and Applied Technology Divisions. We are looking for entry to mid-level Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineers to assist senior Research Center staff with field testing, energy use in residential buildings, data analysis, quality auditing and much more. Our focus is on engineers with experience in Building Sciences, Energy Performance, and Structures (steel, concrete, wood).

REPRESENTATIVE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct analytical and experimental research related to residential construction.
• Participate in and assist with field evaluations and laboratory testing on innovative building technologies that improve energy, environmental, and/or structural performance of buildings.
• Prepare deliverables for clients including detailed research and application reports.
• Participate in the building codes/standards development process.
• Conduct quality audits of product manufacturers.

REQUIREMENTS

• BS degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, or related field, MS Degree preferred
• Minimum 1-5 years of experience
• Residential construction, cold-formed steel framing, wood products, lab testing, building codes, quality auditing experience a plus
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Technical writing experience
