Sales Representative

NAHB Research Center is now seeking a full-time sales representative with a primary focus on generating new clients and expanding sales to existing accounts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with management to develop and implement sales/marketing strategies for existing and new services
  • Prospect for new clients
  • Understand client information needs in support of their marketing and strategic planning decisions
  • Maintain relationships with building products manufacturers and associations with detailed contact information
  • Draft proposals
  • Negotiate and close purchase agreements
  • Provide post-sales customer service and instruct client on how to maximize the value of their purchases
  • Attend trade shows and conferences and travel to meet with prospective clients
  • Other tasks required to increase client base

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent, preferably in business or marketing discipline
  • Exceptional analytical abilities
  • Desire for continual improvement with and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Demonstrated success in selling in a consultative/team environment and building a new business is essential
  • Team player
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic along with high standard of ethics
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
