Flexible Work Schedules

Flexible schedules have been established to provide our employees with a balance between work and life needs, while providing co-workers and clients with maximum service throughout the day. Employees select from a number of starting and ending times. Starting times run as early as 7:00 am and as late as 9:30 am. Ending times begin at 4:00 pm. Core working hours are from 9:30 to 4:00.

Vacation Leave

From date of employment through 3 years of service, employees accrue two weeks of leave for each year they are employed. After 3 years of service, three weeks per year are accrued, and after 10 years of service four weeks per year are accrued. Vacation leave may also be used as unscheduled leave (liberal leave) during inclement weather.

Holiday Leave

The Research Center closes its doors for selected national and commonly-celebrated holidays. They include:

• New Year's Day
• Martin Luther King Day
• Presidents' Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Veterans' Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Day after Thanksgiving
• Christmas Day

Personal Leave

Employees accrue up to 8 days per year with up to 4 days of carryover to the next year. Personal leave is used for sickness, to attend to a family member's illness, as unscheduled leave (liberal leave) during inclement weather, or for vacation.
