Pre-Launch Evaluation Service for New Building Products
As part of our comprehensive suite of market research services for building
product manufacturers, the NAHB Research Center offers a quick, thorough,
and cost-effective method to evaluate the field readiness of new products.
Evaluation like this can be invaluable to manufacturers in preventing
unforeseen installation or usage problems before a big-budget market launch –
and invaluable to your customers who ultimately use the products and materials
and require a seamless transition.
Benefits
-
It's quick. This evaluation can be completed in a short
period of time—typically from a couple days to a week—which is especially
beneficial when meeting launch schedules.
-
It's confidential. All research is conducted in one
private location by one organization that is acutely aware of the need for
confidentiality in this highly competitive industry.
-
It's thorough. The Research Center's extensive experience
assisting manufacturers develop and launch new products, observational research
facility, experience in field evaluations of building materials, experience in
forensics of construction defects, and relationships with the
industry/contractors all combine to provide a turn-key evaluation experience for
manufacturers.
-
It's cost-effective. Travel for R&D staff is minimal
compared to conducting multiple in situ site visits. It’s also possible to have
participation from a large group of both on- and off-site R& D staff,
accommodated by cameras, streaming video on secure websites, and observation
rooms behind one-way glass.
Our Facilities
The Research Center has state-of-the-art Observational
Research Lab and Focus Group Facilities that combine comfort and
efficiency with the latest in communication technologies. Our facilities allow
new product developers or marketers to discretely observe trade contractors or
do-it-yourselfers install building materials and use tools and equipment on
structures of up to two stories. The facility's high-tech features include:
-
two levels of one-way glass and comfortable client observation gallery
-
fixed remote-control cameras to capture the process from many angles
-
lapel and stationary microphones for participants and facilitator
-
numerous plasma viewing screens in observation areas
Adjacent to the observational research area are focus group suites, each with a
client observation room, private lounge, and full concierge service.
