Architecture and Construction Professional Joins NAHB Research Center as Vice President of Business Development

March 1, 2004, Upper Marlboro, Md. - The NAHB Research Center has hired Lisa London, a seasoned residential architecture, construction, and technology expert in the Baltimore/Washington region, to serve as its Vice President of Business Development. London's hiring will advance the mission of the NAHB Research Center, which is to promote innovation in housing technology to improve the durability, affordabilty, and environmental performance of homes and home building products.

The NAHB Research Center's unique relationship with the housing industry, and the breadth of its technical expertise, results in an unrivaled depth of understanding of the housing industry. Michael Luzier, president of the NAHB Research Center, said of London, "Lisa's varied experiences throughout the residential construction industry will help us reach out and provide more specialized yet flexible services to many different sectors within the home building industry. We are looking forward to the new relationships she will be cultivating for us to provide reliable, objective information and research on housing construction and development issues."

London's previous work for Buildscape, a Dow Chemical subsidiary, included the development of an e-business technology initiative for lumberyards and their professional builder clients. As the founder and principal of a luxury residential Design/Build firm for over 10 years, she marketed and performed all architectural services, construction management services, and land development. Other professional experiences include work for a regional home builder on large-scale residential subdivisions in Baltimore County, Md., and Vice President of Public Sector Services for a nationwide real estate due diligence company.

Educated at the University of Maryland's School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, London also attended the Institute for Architecture and Urban Design in New York. She is a certificate candidate for the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
