GE Ecomagination Executive to Keynote 2007 EnergyValue Housing Award Dinner Ceremony

Lorraine Bolsinger, Vice President of Ecomagination, to Present on Driving Development of Resource-Efficient Technologies; Company Focus on Addressing Global Environmental Challenges

January 08, 2007, Upper Marlboro, Md. - As concerns over energy and the environment remain at the forefront of our nation's important issues, an increasing number of new home builders have shifted their focus to improving the energy and environmental performance of their homes. A group of 11 such home builders will be honored for their contributions on February 7, 2007, with the EnergyValue Housing Award (EVHA) presented at the 2007 International Builders' Show. Each year, the EVHA program recognizes a new group of visionary builders who have voluntarily integrated energy efficiency into the design, construction, and marketing of their homes and demonstrated successful approaches to energy-efficient construction. Lorraine Bolsinger, vice president of General Electric Company's (NYSE:GE) ecomagination division, will keynote the EVHA dinner ceremony.

In her position at GE, Lorraine Bolsinger heads ecomagination, a company-wide initiative to address global environmental challenges and aggressively bring to market new technologies that will help its customers meet pressing environmental issues such as the need for cleaner, more efficient sources of energy, reduced emissions, and abundant sources of clean water. Ms. Bolsinger manages the entire program across GE, uniting marketing, sales, and environment, health and safety leaders to meet the goals of the initiative, and of the company. Ms. Bolsinger joined GE in 1981, serving at GE Energy, GE Aerospace, and GE Aviation. She was named a GE Officer in 1999, and has more than 20 years of experience in the power generation, oil and gas, defense, marine, and aviation transport industries.

NAHB Research Center president, Michael Luzier said, "We are excited to have Ms. Bolsinger participate in this event, given her distinguished career with GE and the extraordinary efforts of ecomagination to develop beneficial environmental technologies and help create awareness of energy-efficient homes and home products for the residential construction industry."

GE company chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt said, "With ecomagination, we will establish partnerships with our customers to tackle their most pressing environmental challenges and double our research spending to develop the products and services they need. And, we will use these technologies to improve our own energy efficiency and environmental performance."

GE already is among the leaders in energy-efficient power generation technologies, renewable energy technologies, water purification, and energy-efficient consumer appliance and lighting products. Also, GE's aircraft engines and locomotives are among the most efficient and cleanest in the world.

EVHA is coordinated by the NAHB Research Center in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy through the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and the National Association of Home Builders.
