NAHB Research Center Announces North Carolina Green Home Day
Research Center Partners with Local Home Builder Associations on April 13th to
Deliver Builder Education on Green Home Building & Marketing
What: North Carolina has long been recognized as one of the
nation's leaders for building high-performance, green homes. Over the last
couple years in particular, there has been a flurry of green certification
activity in the state, with nearly 22 percent of all projects certified under
the NAHB Research Center's National Green Building Certification Program in
North Carolina!
Since consumers are looking for healthy, efficient, cost-effective homes now
more than ever, North Carolina's home builders want to make sure they continue
to be ready to fulfill those consumer needs by staying up on the latest green
building education. In partnership with several local North Carolina Home
Builder Associations and Green Building Councils, the NAHB Research Center will
be delivering training to home builders across the state on the
ICC-700 National Green Building Standard,
certification to the Standard, the verification process, and marketing
the benefits of green homes to consumers.
Who: Builder groups hosting the day's events include (in
alphabetical order) Coastal Green Built; Green Home Builders of the Triangle;
Greensboro Builders Association; HBA of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties;
Home Builders Association of Charlotte; Home Builders Association of Raleigh -
Wake County; Home Builders Building Professionals; Triad Green Building
Council; and Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association. Each location will
also have staff from the NAHB Research Center, at least one local NAHB Research
Center
Accredited Green Verifier, and a local marketing specialist. Builders
will have an opportunity to discuss new green projects with their local
verifiers one-on-one after the general sessions.
