• NAHB Research Center Announces Next Meeting of Consensus Committee for Nations Green Building Standard 2012 Update - 12/21/2011
  The NAHB Research Center, secretariat for the 2012 Update of the National Green Building Standard, recently announced that the next meeting of the Consensus Committee will take place February 21-23, 2012, at the National Housing Center in Washington, DC. It will be open to the public.
• Voting Now Open for 2012 EnergyValue Housing Award People’s Choice - 12/15/2011
  Now’s the time to vote for your favorite among this year’s 17 EnergyValue Housing Award finalists – the voting site for the “People’s Choice” award is up and running.
• Industry Experts to Discuss Merits, Considerations, and Concerns of High R-Value Wall Construction - 12/06/2011
  Today, as part of the EcoBuild Conference at the Washington Convention Center, the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) and its Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council (BETEC) will host a day-long symposium on High-Performance Light-Framed Walls. NAHB Research Center staff will moderate and participate in the panels for many of the sessions.
• Public Comment Period for ANSI Square Footage Standard Opens October 17th- 10/17/2011
  As an ANSI Accredited Standards Development Organization, the NAHB Research Center is issuing notice for public comment on the reaffirmation of the American National Standard for Single-Family Residential Buildings, Square Footage – Method of Calculating, ANSI Z765-2003. The public comment period commences October 17th and will end December 5th.
• NAHB Research Center Announces 2012 EnergyValue Housing Award Finalists- 10/12/2011
  Following judging by an expert panel in late September, the NAHB Research Center is pleased to announce that 17 of the nation's most energy-conscious builders and remodelers will receive 2012 EnergyValue Housing Awards. The diversity of this year's crop of winners is a testament to the ability to deliver highly energy-efficient homes at every price point and in every part of the country.
• Chicago Study Shows Cost Advantages of National Green Building Standard Compared to LEED for Homes- 09/29/2011
  A new report on green certification costs for home building and remodeling in the Chicago market says that the National Green Building Standard (NGBS) is a more flexible, affordable alternative for certifying single-family homes, townhouses, and condos than other national or regional green building certifications.
